ABOUT LONI | Ilon Art Gallery COLLECTION
Loni Efron
Art Advisor, Curator of ilon Art Gallery Collection, and Founder of Harlem Art House
For over 30 years, Loni Efron has been a mentor to many artists, many of whom are now part of her current art collective. She has reimagined the traditional gallery model, removing art from the confines of four white walls and creating vibrant cultural spaces within her venues. “Try a new experience with art,” she suggests. Events are held in private spaces, so RSVPs are important. She is widely recognized for cultivating vibrant cultural spaces within her venues. Email: loni@ilon.com for events or private art viewings.
Significant Milestones
Loni Efron’s first gallery show was Annie Leibovitz: Current Works at James Danziger Gallery in SoHo in 1993. Her first museum exhibition followed in 1999 with David LaChapelle at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. From 2004 to 2010, she toured globally with Mark Seliger: In My Stairwell, showcasing his work across the U.S., Europe, Australia, Brazil, and Japan. In 2011, Loni co-founded 401 Projects with Mark Seliger—an artists’ gallery in New York’s West Village.
Building on her deep engagement with artists, art, and photography, Loni established the ilon Art Gallery Collection in 2004. She currently exhibits work in three locations: Harlem Art House (a private space for artists and art enthusiasts), The Betsy Hotel in South Beach, Miami, and the If Museum in Czechia, as well as online. Leveraging her background in technology, she created two online purchasing platforms with no extra fees: www.ilon.com and www.artsy.net.
At Harlem Art House, Loni has curated over 60 exhibitions over 11 years. Private openings, lectures, panels, classes, photo shoots, and film premieres all take place in this intimate Harlem setting. In 2020, ilon Art Gallery joined the global Artsy marketplace. In 2021, Loni and her artists minted their first NFTs, which were added to her online galleries. In 2024, ilon Art Gallery expanded internationally, beginning in Czechia. In August 2025, the collection will be added to The Betsy Hotel in South Beach, Miami.
